June 6th Webinar Recap

Moving From Disability Compliance to Culture

Our June 6th "Moving From Disability Compliance to Culture" webinar was a great success!

If you weren’t able to attend, or would like to see it again, you will find the recording at the bottom of this page.

As a reminder, DisArt Academy offers advanced programs and bespoke consulting about disability language and culture but asks that every client first engages in our foundational workshop that is described below.

Fundamentals of Disability Access, Inclusion & Culture

This workshop introduces your organization to the aspects of modern disability culture. It covers the fundamentals of making spaces, events, and materials accessible to people with disabilities. Topics include physical accessibility, communication access, and digital accessibility.

You will explore inclusive language and communication practices that promote belonging, care and dignity for disability communities and the individuals who comprise them. Intersectionality and disability will be reviewed including examining disability alongside race, gender, sexuality, and socioeconomic status. The workshop will touch on the importance of addressing multiple forms of discrimination within the disability community.

For more information or to plan a workshop, please reach out to DisArt Academy Director Lawrence Carter-Long via email at Lawrence@DisArtNow.org.
