David Rosen – Chair

 

David Matthew Rosen, Ph.D. (he/him) has been the Board Chair for DisArt since it received its 501(c)3 status in 2016. David is a consultant in business and education design and strategy in Nashville, Tennessee. He was president at O’More College of Design, Kendall College of Art & Design and the University of Maine at Machias and senior vice president at Woodbury University. He has served as Board Chair of the Maine Humanities Council, the Media Policy Center and Brooks Institute. He helped found both the Museum School, an XQ Super School, and the Wege Prize for multidisciplinary design of solutions for the circular economy. He holds a BA from Haverford College and a PhD from the Johns Hopkins University. His writings include The Changing Fictions of Masculinity and “Educational Ideas and the Future of Higher Education: The Quest for Global Learning.” His brother’s struggles with autism led to a lifelong advocacy for giving voice to the Disabled and a focus on adaptive educational practices.
